DIYFF Wedding

I’ve been referring to the wedding as a DIY wedding because we had organised every element of the day ourselves.  We had to hire furniture, cutlery, crockery, glassware.  We had to arrange for a local pub to move get a license to serve alcohol in the venue.  We hired the services of caterer and two dj’s.  We also had to set up the venue entirely.  It took 20 of our family and friends 6 hours to create the wedding venue of our dreams! Mike mentioned in his speech that it was a DIYFF wedding….Do it with Your Family & Friends.  We couldn’t have done it without them!  It was an amazing day, everything went very smoothly and we had a ball.  Here are some pictures……

The details of our menu is here if you’re interested.  I will post more pictures at a later stage, these are just a selection from our own camera which was in the hands of my new Brother in Law for the day.  Cheers Padraig!

You look wonderful Marian! I am amazed at the transformation in the reception room in just a few short hours. Well done to all of you who helped make the day special.

No problem Maz. I’m sorry the photos on your camera stopped around dinner time. After that I thought the camera was taking blurry pictures. I was also wondering why the camera itself was blurry.

Ahh, congratulations! You look fantastic - love the eye makeup. And I’m starving now after reading that menu - amazing.

Congrats guys and enjoy the break away and HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAZ!! :D will get the pics to ye as soon as I can, Thesis taking over for a tiny bit, I will trickle them to ye :) :)

Delighted to see the photographs, you look amazing. You should write the book soon on DIYFF weddings :) I hope you are having a wonderful time in France.

Lovely to see the pics!

You certainly got the best weather we’d had all week, for your BIG DAY. The venue looks stunning!

Happy honeymooning!

Congratulations! Your reception hall looks amazing - the transformation is remarkable.

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments. We had a ball, the whole thing was fantastic. Thursday 22nd July was a credit to our nearest and dearest who came out in force to help us make that dream wedding a reality. The whole wedding day was so much fun and then Mike’s parents had a fantastic barbeque the next day. Our trip to France was amazing, we’re just back in the last few hours. We learned loads and loads and are hooked on “la belle France”.

Your venue looks amazing - where is it? and as for the Barbie cake!!

Love your hair, dress, earrings - everything. Sounds like you had a blast and all the hard work was part of the fun too :-)

Hi Lorna, the venue is Daghdha Dance Space in Limerick. It was a Protestant Church for 100’s of years but was deconsecrated in the 50’s. It’s fantastic!
