I was delighted to find this pattern on the Internet a while back and couldn’t wait to try it out. I used some leftover acrylic yarn and decorated with buttons. This is a very simple tree ornament, if you’ve any experience of crochet at all, give it a go. One of the commenters on the pattern itself mentioned that they made them as pins for their friends. The ones I’ve made have been a little bit too big for that, but if you had some finer yarn and smaller hooks that would work nicely.

What a fab way to start Christmas
Love the buttons as baubles. Now, I’d better go dust off our tree and decorations…

I love this. I have a plan for Christmas that I am going to make everyone make me tree decorations. It just means more that way.

Marian! That tree you made is so cute! The buttons are a genius addition. I’d love to make some, but haven’t learned how to crochet yet… My books finally arrived, so I’ll have to get studying Stitch ‘n Bitch and get a move on or Christmas will be here already.

Hi Kee, glad you liked the tree, it’s no bother at all to make, learn chain stitch and single crochet stitch and that’s all you need!!
Lottie, great idea. I love having all different decorations on my tree, no homebase 3 for 2 sets in my house
